April 2022 Newsletter

Time for our Cultivate Quarter … all about your home!

Home… where you feel warm and fuzzy, where you can be you (messy bun and all), where you have some great celebrations, try something new, where your munchkins feel safe and loved. It is so much more than just where you sleep. It is where you and your children make memories, have a chance to express your own style (be it 2 pillows, or 22), and where you and your munchkins get unconditional love from each other. That’s what makes a home a real home. It’s all about feelings.

It doesn’t matter if you live in an apartment on the 6th floor, or a house with a backyard, in the city or in the country, with a cat or dog or a goldfish named Goldie (naturally), it’s your home. We should love our home (okay maybe not alllll of it), and it should bring you some peace and tranquility. You should have a space to call your own, as should the young (and not so young) ones. This is your breathing space, and you can make it whatever you want it to be.

Love it or List it? Need to renovate or will a lipstick fix work?

We all have things that we would love to do to our home. Add an office. Paint a room. Finish the basement for play space. Have more places to store aallll that stuff! So, let’s look at this with maximum practicality first…money. Do you have the money to move? Able to refinance perhaps? Need a home improvement loan? Want to up-size? Ready to down-size? Maybe you’re just ready for a change of neighbourhood. This is when you should start speaking with your best friend who is a real estate agent, and your aunt who is a mortgage broker. Don’t know anyone in these professions? We’ve got you completely covered! No need to look anywhere else.

Another thing to consider is your university student or grad (congrats if so!) who will be coming home in April or early May. The entire home dynamic changes when they come back. Well it does at my house anyway. It’s so bizarre how one human can change the feel of everything at home. But I love it every time she comes home. It helps balance out the sexes again at my house. Boys remain in the lead, but at least I’m not flying solo. She keeps the boys in their place. It works! LOL

Now here’s the possible conundrum… have you repurposed their room into something else while they’ve been away and now have to figure out how to give it back? This one is tricky, takes some organizing and thought, but do-able. Or, have you left it exactly how it was (since middle school) and you’ve suddenly realized they’re 21 and at the very least we should ditch the pink walls, the even pink-er curtains and the Hello Kitty comforter? This one can be quick and fun, and she will be so happy when she comes home to a more grown-up room. Sometimes a coat of paint and a new comforter for the bed is enough to make it feel completely different. True fact: it really is do-able in two days. Painting one day, shopping another. I know this personally! Hit Home Depot for paint and supplies, then Home Sense perhaps for new bedding and a couple grown up throw pillows, and maybe even hit IKEA for some blackout curtains. Ka-POW!! You’ve just proven your Wonder Woman plus Best Mom on the Planet abilities yet again!  Way to go MOM!!!

What else can I expect to see during the Home Quarter?

Well, let me tell you. Home renovation, DIY projects, gardening, household plants, home maintenance, interior design, dealing with tenants, should I rent or own, home decor, spring cleaning, donating items, buying out your ex-spouse, moving tips, household allergens, getting munchkins to help around the house, chores v helping, who to call when a problem arises, some great recipes worth sharing, and so much more.

We want to be your one stop shop for information about everything.

April is going to be awesome! Warmer weather. Get our social lives going again. Spending time with family and friends in the sunshine!

Here at The Cove Global our mission is to save Moms time, simply because it is so valuable. Less wasted time means more time to spend making memories with the munchkins, more time on well earned and much needed self care, or more time building your business that you have put your heart and soul (and money) into. Keep track of your time, take back some time, and make great use of it for your benefit. Sounds like another great goal for 2022!
